I love going to West Side Market in Cleveland, Ohio. I’ve only been a couple of times, so when I do get to go, it’s a real treat! My mom had never experienced it, so she and I went on a little adventure.
First off, let me just say that if you’re a foodie and you haven’t experienced West Side Market, you need to. Second, I love the variety of things you can find there. Today, we bought things I’ve never tried and I’m excited to as well as old favorites. 🙂
First off, the pictures don’t do it justice, but they were the best I could do with how crowded it was. The one on the left is the corner of the produce market and the one on the right was just an isle of the rest of the place.
We brought home all kinds of delicious items. For me, I brought home a pound of thick sliced bacon, some star fruit, mangoes, a couple of rambutans (I’ve never tried them. They’re the spiky thing in the pictures below. You’re supposed to crack the spiky shell open and eat the fruit inside), a tiny cheese cake,a few prickly pears, a couple of bundles of noodles, and a large beef stick.
Also, I saw the biggest freakin’ shrimp I’ve ever seen today. The picture does not do them justice. They were as big as my hand!
I kind of wish I’d snagged at least one. Maybe next time! 🙂 Either way, I hope to go there more often, especially as summer approaches. 🙂
