There was a hole in my tire…

My weekend did not go quite as how I had imagined, though it DID turn out to be a good one!  My plans fell through and I thought everyone else was busy, so for the first Friday night in over a month, I was home… alone. I couldn’t believe it.  So, I decided that the next day I was going to go to the Geocaching WWFM XI event near me, run a couple of errands, and then spend the weekend doing some projects, cleaning, and relaxing.  Well, most of that changed on Saturday.

There was a pretty big turn out for the WWFM XI event!

Just as I was leaving for the Geocaching event, my friends Gnausho and Tails got a hold of me and said that they were going to come visit me after I came back.  I was surprised because I thought they had plans for the weekend.  So, I was happy to have the company!  After I came home, they came over and we were able to hang out for a while.  We went to Squire’s Castle for a short bit and walked around the castle, then discovered on returning to my car that my tire looked low on air.  So, we stopped and filled it up, grabbed some subs from Jersey Mike’s for dinner (I swear those are the best subs.  I can’t eat subway anymore for multiple reasons), came home, ate, then decided to head out to Annabelle’s to see the old cars.  I’ve been going to Annabelle’s since I was a kid, so it was cool to be able to share it with some friends.  It wasn’t a huge turn out, but it was still pretty nice.

After returning to our cars, we discovered that my tire was, once again, low on air.  So, we took it up the road to the gas station to put more in it only to discover an nail in it.  So, we put some air in it and I took my car home.

On Sunday, I couldn’t go anywhere at all because by that point my tire was completely flat, so I relaxed for a while, then Gnausho and Tails came over to patch my tire for me.  I’m so lucky to have such awesome friends!  So, to thank them, I made them chicken and pesto for dinner. 🙂

Just when I thought the craziness was done for the weekend, we ended up at my neighbor’s apartment for a bit of a party thing.  It was a lot of fun!  Though I do wonder how there always ends up to be drunken trumpeting in my apartment almost every time.  I’m not complaining! I think it’s hilarious! I just never thought my trumpets would be played while the player was drunk. :p

I’ve been working hard, reaching out to people, and (of course) enjoying nature as often as I possibly can.  When I feel the urge to go out for a walk, I go and I’m so glad I do!  There’s so many pretty things to look at!  Here’s some pics from today.

My garden is coming along quite well, I think, though no flowers are blooming just yet.  I’ve added a new basil plant to my collection: Opal Basil, though it looks dark purple to black.  I’m really looking forward to the flavor and coloring this will provide.  With this addition, it brings it to four varieties of basil on my balcony.  🙂  My little melon plants are coming along quite well also, so I’m really looking forward to tasting the melons they produce when they come!  I’m so excited to see what the garden looks like in another month!

And my kitties are just lazing about. :3

So that’s what’s going on with me for the moment other than the fact that my new diet (due to my food allergies) and my hiking has helped me loose 10 pounds since I learned of my allergies, so I’m super happy about that!  It’s been an adjustment, but so far so good.  I have a few projects in the works, but nothing to really show yet, so stay tuned for those.  More DIY’s coming your way in the coming days and I’ll update again as soon as I can!  With that, I’m going to go enjoy a nice glass of wine on my breezy balcony before bed.  I hope that where ever you are, you’re out enjoying life as well!

  1. Very nice Dani…I’ve been put on a diet too. No allergies, just what I like to call “a joyful love of fine cuisine”. Of course that “fine cuisine” includes just about everything edible known to man but hey, what’s wrong with enjoying food???
Anyway, loved the blog. Which of the great states are you in? I’m originally from Philly but I’ve been banished to Long Island, NY for now. We’re working our budget to make a move to Miami soon.
    Talk to you soon,
    Ed

    • Thanks! It’s quite the adjustment and not everyone exactly helps with it, but it’s working so far. I’ve found ways around things at least. I’m a total foodie. 😉
I’m in Ohio now, but I’ve lived in Kansas (never want to again) and Tennessee. I haven’t been to NY yet, but I hope to at some point this summer. I hope you get to move to Miami sometime soon!
