Yuri’s Night Cleveland

My weekend was such a blast! I can’t even get over it.  All week I was super excited for Saturday night and thankfully, I was not disappointed.  Saturday started off with me getting some stuff done around the home as per usual and settling details for the night.  Then, my best friend came by and picked up the dresses I donated for the Angel Gown collection.  Then, My friend came to pick me up and we all went to Yuri’s Night at the Cleveland Science Center.  Yuri’s Night is an international celebration held on April 12th every year to commemorate space exploration milestones.  The event is named for the first human to launch into space, Yuri Gagarin, who flew the Vostok 1 spaceship on April 12, 1961.  Cleveland celebrates in full style!  In fact, I can’t wait until next year.  I fully unleashed my geeky self into the fun.  Once in, drinks and horderves were included.  There were many decks to relax on with live music, a dance with a dj, a balloon drop at midnight, multiple shows throughout the night… all in all, it as a fantastic night!  The weather was a beautiful 70 degrees, so when we went outside to get some air, it was beautiful.  If you would have told me 15 years ago I’d be in the science center, watching an omni max film about space, and drinking alcohol, I’d have never believed it.  Still, amazing night with amazing people!  Below are a few the photos from that night.

I was so captivated by the R2D2 that was moving around and interacting with people. Hehehe… (yes, I know I’m a total geek for this.)

And, as mentioned above, here’s  the balloon drop.

I only wish I had known that my video settings weren’t right when I did that.  Oh well.  Fixed for the future! 🙂

On Sunday, I spend most of my day with my boyfriend, so that made me really happy.  All in all, I had a fantastic weekend.  Tomorrow it will be back to work as usual and an interesting week of plans is starting to take form, so here’s hoping it turns out a good one!  How did you spend your weekend?
