This past weekend, I turned the magical number of 32. I don’t feel different, but I must say that it’s weird when I think about it and I realize I’m 32. I don’t think I ever pictured myself being this age, though I’m not sure why. I’m not ashamed of it, I’m not scared of it… to be honest, I’m proud to be 32. I’m alive.
For the past four years, I haven’t exactly had a good record for birthdays. Bad things have managed to happen within two days before or after or even on my birthday – two of those years involving death. I was determined for this year to be a decent one and for the first time in four years, it was. It wasn’t big or extravagant or adventurous, but it was still exceptionally nice. It was what I needed. My boyfriend came and stayed for the weekend, some friends came over to visit for a bit, and there was dinner with my parents. It was a very nice, relaxing weekend.
We watched The Labyrinth on Saturday night, complete with our commentary. It had been a while since I watched it, so it was highly enjoyable. Then, we watched other things and made fun commentary.
Sunday, we were out of the norm. Or at least I was. For the first time in four years, I plugged in my PS2 and decided to see if it still worked. Low and behold, it did. A lot of my old games no longer work (they were terribly scratched), but some of them still do. I noticed I have to put some weight on the lid to the cd chamber to make sure it keeps reading the disk. Yep. It’s odd and probably on it’s last legs, but again, it works. I might even play a little Kingdom Hearts after I post this blog which, for those of you who don’t know, that’s odd for me. I’m not a huge video game person for a lot of reasons, but I’m kinda curious about playing a little. So, I will, but just a little.
So, of all the things I could have done on my birthday, I played video games. My mind was blown. Only after we were on our way to dinner with my parents did we realize all the things we could have done that day. Go figure!
I’ve been working on some stuff like more chainmaille but for dolls and some crayon art, but I will be talking about and showing you all what those are in the next post. So, off I go to have a snack and play a little video games before I turn in. The snow storm has arrived and I don’t plan on going anywhere for the next few days. 🙂
