Gobbling Up the Laughter

Ah, Thanksgiving. One of the holidays when my family gets together and enjoys a meal together.  Also, interesting things tend to happen.  Take this year for example.  Grandma didn’t want us to cook. She wanted us to come down and go out to eat with her. She’d pick the place since she usually goes out to eat on Thanksgiving and knew the best place for turkey. So, we ended up at a place called The Iron Skillet.  Which is at a truck stop.  Where we ate turkey off of actual iron skillets.  Not joking.  I laughed so hard.

Oh, and of course, it’s not a holiday at Grandma’s until Dad and Grandma talk about stuff that happened that Mom and I can’t follow and Dad takes us on the “scenic tour” back to Grandma’s while they reminisce about things that existed 40 years ago that, yet again, Mom and I can’t follow.  As usual, there were death defying stories involved where Dad regails us with his stories of how he survived puberty and part of his 20’s.

All in all, it was a fun day and I joked about how redneck the whole thing was.  Not that I mind.  At least I got to spend some time with my family and these are the memories that I will some day look back on and laugh.  Oh wait, already am. Hahaha!!

As you may have noticed, I have changed the look of the site for the winter season!  I look forward to bringing back the green trees in the spring. 🙂  I do love winter, though, just not as much as I do the rest of the year.  My twitter has changed to the same look as well.

Lots of new things have been going up in the shop with plenty more to come!  However, most of the stuff that is going up in the shop is a limited item, as in there is just one!  So if you see something you like, don’t miss out!  Get it while you can!  Hint: most of the beaded stuff.

More new types of things will be coming to the shop soon as well!  I’m working on several new things because well… I just want to.  I’m still doing mostly jewelry, but a side project or two is fun, too.  Plus, having my mom making stuff, there’s that too.  Also, if you haven’t seen it yet, my button wreath DIY is up on Western Lake County Today!  I’m working on a new project tonight for the next DIY, so stay tuned for that as well!

This Saturday, I’ll be set up in Painesville for their annual Spirit of the Season celebration.  My friend Aslynn will be there with me and will have some super awesome ornaments on hand for your to grab as well!  We’ll be in the basement of One Victoria Place from 11am to 5pm, so don’t miss out!  If you want to find me, look for me wearing my signature holiday top hat. 😉

Bad picture, but you get the idea.

On that note, I’m going to head off and work on some projects and actually decorate for Christmas.  This year, I probably won’t be putting up my big Christmas tree because honestly?  I don’t feel like fanangling to make a spot for it this year.  Instead, I shall set up the beautiful large ceramic Christmas tree and decorate around the place.  I’m sure my kitties will help.

Expect a blog  in the coming days (maybe even tomorrow) about how to make smore bites.  I made them for some friends and one claimed something along the lines of them being crack in a bowl.  So, thanks for reading and see ya in the next one!
