This is a Weird Week

Weird. That’s the only way I can really describe this week right now. If we count my week as starting of on Sunday, it started out fun! My week started out with my adventure in Cleveland on St. Patrick’s Day. That night, though, things turned to the weird. I had gotten a call from someone claiming to be from an employment agency. He called me at 7:30pm and said that there was a job fair the next morning at a hotel in my area and that I should bring my license and social security card with me. I wrote down all of the information and finished eating my dinner. As I laid down trying to sleep, my mind started racing. I was like, wait a minute. It was 7:30 on a Sunday night and this guy is calling me telling me to bring those two forms of id to a job fair located in a hotel the next morning?! Something doesn’t feel right. After chatting about it with my best friend (I wanted to make sure I wasn’t crazy for being suspicious) I called the hotel. The guy who answered was less than helpful, but told me that he didn’t see anything on the calendar for the next day and to call in the morning to make sure. So, the next morning, I called and low and behold there was no such thing scheduled that morning. I’m glad I listened to my instincts and I’m glad I called. I’m not sure what would have happened if I had gone. So, if you’re looking for a job, beware of those kind of scammers, too.

So, we’ll count dealing with a scammer my weirdness of Sunday night and Monday. On Tuesday, I was involved in a bit of an intervention. I won’t go into details due to what all went on, but let’s just say things were said and feelings were had that were meant to be said and felt. On top of that, I had some severe stomach cramps that made my day expressly difficult.

Today was a weird day yet again. I call it weird because it’s not every day that you’re almost hit by a car trying to evade the police. I had just pulled out of the gas station and was on my way to the grocery store when I heard sirens and by luck saw a line of police cars heading toward me from the direction I was headed. I pulled to the side just in time as the vehicle they were chasing swerved around a van. Had I not moved, I’d have been hit. I was shocked by that one. That was a first for me. So, I went to the store and returned home, even more aware of my surroundings than usual. As I went to and from the store, I saw a lot more police vehicles than usual. It was like watching caged animals pace. It was crazy.

The weirdness continues tomorrow with King James Day. This day was created in loving memory of James Walworth, who died in a car accident three years ago. He used to put things on his head that were not hats, so the birthday after his death, his brother started King James Day in his honor and we celebrate it every year on James’ birthday. So if you would like to join us in celebrating his life and his memory, place something on your head and submit it!

To give you a glimps of what I'm referring to, this was from the first ever King James Day.

Otherwise, I’m taking it easy as I’m dealing with some stomach issues and trying to come up with Fourteen by 2014. It’s based on my post from last year, 13 by 2013. I figured I’d get a jump start on it this year instead of waiting until there is less than two months left to really accomplish something. I’m trying hard to really think of what I want accomplished this year. I think it’s a fun thing to do and by no means is it a limitation. šŸ™‚ I highly recommend it! Giving yourself a list of goals to accomplish during the year can be fun! It doesn’t have to be much, but it can be as large or as small as you’d like. So why not give it a try?

So with that, I’m going to end my yammering for the night. Thanks for reading!
