Even though my plans changed a little bit over the weekend, I still managed to have a good one. On Saturday, I took my grandmother to Madison Old Fashioned Days. It wasn’t anything like it used to be back when I was young; it’s rather dried up these days, but I figured my grandmother would enjoy a trip out of the house no less. So after pushing and pulling her around in a wheel chair and grabbing some sausage sandwiches and elephant ears, I took her home. I think she may have been the oldest relic there! lol! After that, I visited my parents, grabbed some alcoholic truffles from down at the lake, and went home to finish up a commission for two chainmaille rosaries which, I might add, take a good while to make.
Here’s the finished product:
I also experimented and made a new necklace:
Sunday didn’t go as expected. I was supposed to have my car fixed, but due to incoming storms, that didn’t happen. Instead, I ran some errands, did some house work, and worked on more commissions. However, while out and about running my errands, while sitting at a long red light, I started to get curious about what happened if I had turned right at the light. I had been at that intersection hundreds of times, but never had I turned right. So, curiosity got the better of me, and I turned right. After following it a bit, I finally found a fishing pier! So that’s where it leads… It was pretty awesome to park there and watch the storm rolling in over the lake. I got some terrific photos of the waves as well. I love how in the background, you can see waves hitting the break wall and shooting higher than the boat that’s just on the other side. There were quite a few people down there, mostly just enjoying the wind and watching the storm roll in. I didn’t stay long, but it was enjoyable while I was down there. Perhaps, if I get my fishing license sometime soon, I’ll go down there and fish.
Here are some photos from my time at the pier:
So, as you can see, I had some fun taking some photos and doing chainmaille over the weekend. I also enjoyed conversations flashing back to when I was in school with my roommate and his girlfriend. Good times, good times. Oh, the conversations we end up having. It’s crazy how small the world can be.
Well, on that note, I’ll be heading out to get my car fixed today and I hope to get a chance to work on some new ideas I have using flatware. If everything goes right, I’ll be showing some new stuff soon enough! Also, I have two upcoming shows in the next two months that I will be posting about hopefully this week. I’m just waiting on the final approval, then I’ll be letting the masses aware! Also, keep in mind that at my shows, I have things up for grabs that aren’t for sale on my site currently! So come out, say hi, and maybe find something to take home with you!
Thanks for stopping by and reading today!
