What have I been reading lately?

So, for those who don’t know, I’m an avid reader. I LOVE to read. When ever a new book comes out from one of my favorite series, I usually have it the day it’s released and am done with it in under 24 hours. Oh yeah. I read fast, too. So, today, I thought I would share with you what I have been reading lately.
About a month ago, I finished reading the entire House of Night series again. I read the latest book when it was release, then the whole series again because I just wanted to refresh myself on it and I enjoy the books. It’s about a vampire boarding school and how one of the fledglings was chosen special by the goddess nyx to fight the evil that’s not only inhabiting the school, but trying to take over the world. This was a surprising series for me because when I read the back of Marked, it didn’t seem like a book I’d like to read. However, boredom overpowered me and I started reading it, only to be hooked. So, now I’m anxiously waiting for November when the next book comes out.
The book I just finished reading the other day was Clockwork Angel. It is the first book in the Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare. It takes place in Victorian London and is an awesome book and a great start to the prequel for the Immortal Instruments series. Both series are extremely good. Just before I read this, I had just finished City of Fallen Angels, which is the fourth book in the Immortal Instruments series. Love love love the world of the Nephilim! The Immortal Instruments series takes place in modern day New York and is about demon hunters where as Clockwork Angel takes place in Victorian London and has some steampunk elements. I’m looking forward to December when Clockwork Prince comes out. 🙂
So, that’s what I’ve been reading lately. I’m now re-reading Clockwork Angel to just make sure there’s nothing I missed, then I’m probably going to re-read yet another one of my all time favorite series: Harry Potter. Yes, I am a huge Harry Potter fan.
What have you read lately? Anyone care to share?

  1. I also read a book called “Infernal Devices” lately but that one was by K. W. Jeter. Really awesome, and it is as much a mystery novel as a gear and piston classic.

  2. As a huge fan of Cassandra Clare’s series and Harry Potter, I loved this post. =) Although I have not read the House of Night series it is on my to-read list. I just recently finished The Deception of the Emerald Ring by Lauren Willig. If you like the Victorian era I believe you will like her series. It begins with The Secret History of the Pink Carnation if you are interested. Hope you enjoy.

    • Oooh! I do love the Victorian era! I’ll have to look it up and give it a read! This will be on my to-read list as well. Also, so glad you loved the post! Thanks for your comment and for the recommendation!
