My weekend in Chicago was awesome!!! I didn’t get to do the things outside of the hotel like I had planned, but that’s ok. Sadly, I will not be crossing certain things off of my 13 by 2013 list, but still, it was an amazing time and totally worth it!
We packed the car to it’s fullest and set out early on Thursday morning. It was a nice trip! We had fun talking and listening to music. Once we reached Chicago, the traffic wasn’t all bad. We only really had stop and go issues once we got close to our exit. So, all in all, not a bad drive at all!
Once we got there, we found out it would be a wait for my room, but his suite was ready, so we unloaded everything in there and then I started connecting with my roommates who had gathered there at different times. A few hours later, my room came available and luckily.
The rest of the weekend was rather a blur. I set up in the artist’s alley a couple times and went around looking at stuff, hanging out with friends, drank a bit, saw about half of Iron Sky (hilariously bad movie. I need to see the rest of it.), took lots of pictures, danced a little bit (not much, the music changed to something I couldn’t dance to), and just partied it up all weekend. One person, in particular, managed to slowly slide off the bed he was sitting on and get lodged between the wall and the bed holding up his drink saying “Save the drink!” The bed then had to be moved so he could get unstuck and get up. The same person also “pole danced” using pillows. Hilarious times were had! Then, of course, there was the fire alarm at 3am Monday morning. Thankfully, I was with my boyfriend and he kept me warm while we stood outside. :p Monday morning, we left and headed home on very little sleep. It was still a long drive, but still not bad at all. No stops while going through Chicago, either, and I think we were both a little surprised at that.
It was so good to see all the people I did! Some I haven’t seen in years, some I haven’t seen in weeks, met some new people… it was a very fun experience as always. There was a lot of cool art and very awesome fursuiters there this year! Also, the attendance made it the 2nd biggest furry con in the world this year! How awesome is that?! I hope to go to the largest that is only a few hours from me this coming year, but I’m not entire sure what will happen. My my next furry con is looking like FCN in Michigan.
So, here are some pictures from my trip! I thought I’d share them on here, but if you’d like to see more of them, you can find them on my Flickr. So, here was my trip in some pictures.
First up we have my roommates and me and then a con badge done by my friend Blu.
Next is a couple pictures of the crowd at the convention.
These are a couple of custom pieces I made while sitting in the artist’s alley.
I got new wrist cuffs and someone wanted to know what the inside of a bathroom looked like, so I randomly took a picture. :p
A random pic of my friend, Jeff, while at Ihop, and a picture of a very delicious drink I snagged while at the bar. Yum!
And, of course, FUZZIES!! My personal favorite was the totem. hehe…
Well, that’s it! That’s was my weekend at MFF in short and in pictures. As I said before, if you want to see more, be sure to check out my Flickr and feel free to leave some comments down below! As a last minute arrangement, I’ll be setting up at Winterfest in downtown Cleveland this Saturday between 2 and 7pm! Be sure to come see me out there in the square! I’ll be in a heated tent with lots of other crafters. Remember, buy local and from local artists! It makes the world better!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
