This past weekend was so much fun!! To be honest, I didn’t quite know what to expect, but I hadn’t expected it to be as fun as it was. There were a lot of people there and most were in costume. The costumes were great! I can’t wait for next year. Next year, though, I hope to have someone with me so I can walk around a little and see all that’s there. Oh, and to take more pictures. hehe… definitely want to take more pictures.
I did manage to take a couple quick pics….
After the Geek Expo, I went to my grandma’s house to stay the night. She lived not far away, and plus I was getting my breaks fixed in the morning. So, I stayed the night, washed some laundry, and read a book. The next morning, my mechanic showed up and took my car away to replace the breaks. What a difference! I hadn’t realized just how bad my breaks were until I got the car back. Before, my peddle was down toward the floor when I pressed it. Now it’s up high and I just have to tap it! It’s great! I feel so much safer now!
After the car was fixed, I stopped and visited my parents, then went to see my boyfriend. It’s always a good, relaxing time when I visit him. Feeling relaxed, I went home and decided to leave the unloading of the car for Monday after work. I went up stairs and finished reading Sapphire Blue and have now crossed it off my 13 by 2013 list. So, that’s one thing done! I’m now slowly reading more of City of Lost Souls. Don’t get me wrong, I’m into it, but it’s taking me a while to find the time to read. So much is going on!
Yesterday (Monday), I managed to get some stuff done. My power came back on in full as of Friday around 3:30pm. I was highly grateful that I was able to get the drilling I needed to get done done at home and to have use of the elevators again so I didn’t have to go up and down the five flights of stairs to load my car for the weekend. However, due to the busy nature of preparing for the weekend on Friday, having a visitor, and having dinner with the family (to celebrate my grandmother’s 93rd birthday!), I wasn’t able to really clean up the mess that had occurred due to the power outage. So, last night, I began clean up. I was surprised just how bad it is… I’ll be finishing up (hopefully) what I didn’t get done tonight. Tonight, I’m also planning on getting my hair cut. I don’t mind that it’s long, but it’s also become unruly and uncooperative and I just can’t seem to tame it. So, time for a cut. Then, later this week, I’ll be having family visiting from Tennessee. I’m looking forward to it! So, not only do I want my apartment back to normal because I prefer it, but also because I’m about to have company.
On top of getting my place back to normal and having some out of state visitors, I’m leaving for MFF in just over a week and I have a lot of commissions to finish before I go. So, busy busy busy! It’s time crunch time, but I know I can do it! I won’t be able to attend any real social events until MFF, but that will be ok… I think… :p
So, with all that being said, lots to do, lots to do! I hope that in the next post I’ll have accomplished a lot and have good things to report. Also, today is election day, so I hope you all have gone out to vote! I voted early via mail in ballet. I am soooo happy the election is coming to a close. Being in Ohio, I am incredibly sick of campaign ads. I’d rather start listening to Christmas music in August over the campaign ads. So, until the next post, thanks for reading!
